Joseph Dowdell is an associate with the firm. Mr. Dowdell handles general civil litigation, business litigation, and has experience with criminal investigations, local environmental issues, and securities law.
Mr. Dowdell graduated from the University of Maryland Francis King Carey School of Law in 2024 where he obtained his Juris Doctor and completed the environmental law track. Mr. Dowdell was a Notes and Comments Editor on the Maryland Law Review and member of the National Trial Team. Mr. Dowdell was a recipient of the University of Maryland Litigation and Advocacy award, Maryland Law Scholars award, and wrote a law article exploring the intersection of environmental and securities laws, which was published in volume 82 of the Maryland Law Review Online. Mr. Dowdell obtained his B.A. in Criminal Justice from Michigan State University.
Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Dowdell served as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Chief Judge E. Gregory Wells on the Appellate Court of Maryland. Before becoming a lawyer, Mr. Dowdell was a Trooper and Detective Trooper Specialist with the Michigan State Police from 2014 until starting law school in 2021 and handled full criminal investigations.
Mr. Dowdell was admitted to the Maryland State Bar in December 2024, and he is a member of the Maryland State Bar Association and Anne Arundel Bar Association.
