Matthew J. Chalker

Matthew Chalker represents clients in civil litigation and civil appeals in state and federal courts. His trial practice focuses on business litigation, estate and trust litigation, real estate disputes, and general civil litigation. 

His appellate practice spans a range of issues arising out of state and federal civil litigation, notably including medical malpractice, family law, and personal injury. He has handled appeals in Maryland and before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, and argued cases in both. 

Matthew also provides non-litigation and pre-suit advice for new and established businesses. Having served as the legal advisor for the Maryland National Guard’s equal opportunity and military equal opportunity programs, his non-litigation advice includes particular focus on equal opportunity compliance and risk mitigation, and equal opportunity related investigations.

His past experience includes complex civil litigation and civil appellate practice, and service in the United States Army’s Judge Advocate General’s Corps.

Matthew currently serves as an officer in the Maryland Army National Guard.
